Snow, Snow, Snow in ND

North Dakota Snow

"Snow" much Snow!

Falling down.

Helping a neighbor in the alley.

Standing, but not touching the bottom.

Oh well. We live in North Dakota. What can you expect?

Everywhere it is snow. It keeps piling up around here. We shovel, then it snows again. It doesn't have a chance to melt, so it keeps getting higher & higher!

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!

It's hard to stand up when it's this deep.

Looking for a path.

Trying to walk can be a challenge. We look like cowboys all winter just trying to keep our balance & not fall.

Snow Angels!

Everyone helps shovel - even the children.
We have been working today, just trying to dig a path for our suburban to get out of the driveway. We had to try and help a neighbor get her car out of the alley behind the house. We weren't successful. She had to call for help. It's so much snow!

Record-Breaking Snow Accumulation

Our feet aren't even touching the bottom of the ground!
This is only the back yard. The front yard is much worse!
Everyone grab a shovel & start digging!

Snow angel break!

Playing with the puppy. Don't lose him in the snow.

Will it ever end?

Of course North Dakota would be breaking snow records while we're living here! So much snow. Pretty funny to see Southerners trying to shovel it.

Christmas Day

We had a very filling meal for Christmas: Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Rolls, Macaroni & Cheese, Green Bean Casserole, Creamy Corn, Sweet Potato Casserole, Broccoli Salad & Deviled Eggs.
Later we played with the new Legos. And we played Monopoly Here & Now World Edition. It was fun not to have to count your money this time. We also played the new Wii games. That is a workout!

Christmas Morning 2008

We have much to be thankful for. Everyone had a wonderful, white Christmas. The only thing that would have made it better, would be to be with all our family!!!
Maybe next year?

Christmas Eve

Cookies & Milk for Santa,
along with our annual note to Santa. He always writes back.
PJ's & Wall-E

Let's watch the movie & go to bed.

Christmas Advent

This year we added a pocket advent calendar to our advent tradition. Each night it was filled with a surprise for the boys. Our Christmas advent tradition consists of the Jesus Tree, a Christmas Carol countdown, a toyshop countdown & the pocket calendar.
On Christmas Eve it had a clue, which began a new tradition of a Scavenger Hunt! The clues took them throughout the house & revealed their Christmas Eve present - pajamas & a movie!

Gingerbread Man

Kaden wanted to make Gingerbread Men this year to see if they would come alive. I think he was a little disappointed. It seemed to work for his Preschool & Kindergarten class last year.
We also made M & M Chocolate Chip Cookies with red & green sprinkles for Santa. He liked those. ;)
By the way, we had to buy molasses to make these complicated, homemade gingerbread cookies. Who buys molasses?

Kaden Waiting

Kaden had to sit & wait a lot for many programs. We used the camera to make the time go by faster. Here's a few pictures we actually saved & didn't delete.
