Boat Tour

While at Glacier, we were fortunate enough to climb aboard a boat build in 1927. We took a tour of Two Medicine River area while on the boat. Dylan kept his eyes peeled for bears and other wildlife.

10 Years

This December we will celebrate 10 years of marriage. We talked about coming here for our 10 year anniversary. However, most of the roads in Glacier would not be passable at that time. It's probably still pretty to see.

Mountain Man

Landon dreams of being near the mountains and rivers. This trip to Glacier was a dream-come-true for him.

Kaden Likes Water

Kaden enjoyed his time at Glacier. He loves being down by the water. We tried to give him time to throw a few rocks in the water each time we stopped at a new lake/river. That was his favorite thing to do.

Searching for Berries

Dylan had a little project going on while hiking to the waterfalls. (Imagine that!) He wanted to hunt for berries with his Mom.

Landon's Favorite

MANY pictures were taken at Glacier National Park. This happens to be one of Landon's favorites. Who knows why?!

Time with Grandma and Brittney

We are having fun with Grandma and (Cousin/Niece) Brittney this week. They have come from Georgia to enjoy a little vacation time in Montana. Brittney flew on an airplane for the first time to come and see us. We feel very special!

Bold Moves

After church, Landon took us on a Sunday drive to the Flathead Indian Reservation. We found a nice place to stop and stretch our legs. While Landon and Lorinda were taking pictures and while Kaden was playing on the playground, Dylan went and asked a group of teenage kids if he could play basketball with them. (He did good out there with the big kids!)

Forest Fires

Montana is having its share of forest fires this year. We often see the fires (smoke and flames) and we can witness the effort to put them out. This is an example of what we frequently see.
Note: Lorinda's Dad has first-hand experience in this field. That's what makes it so interesting to us!

A Pastor's Paradise

Earlier this week, Landon retreated to study. He ended up at this beautiful location. He brought the family back today to show us what he had discovered. It truly is a pastor's paradise, for it provides peace and solitude. These two components make for excellent study and reflection time.

Bonner Park

A few of the parks in town have new sprinklers. They call them "Spray Parks". On hot days, this is the place to be. Dylan wasted no time getting wet, while Kaden had to think about it for a minute. Eventually, both were completely soaked and having the time of their lives!

Fun @ Home

A family can have going out and exploring the city. But a family can also have fun right at home. We find this to be true very often.

Kaden is proud of his new superman tattoo. He pretends he has superpowers.

Dylan is proud he has learned to shoot a bow & arrow. He pretends he is an indian chief.

Sunset

Montana provides some awesome sunsets. We experienced one of those last night. Although it's hard to capture it on camera.

Under the Big Sky

The Jeremy Camp concert was an outdoor event. We took a blanket to sit on and the boys, instead used it to cover up with. There was a slight chill in the air after a thunderstorm that occurred earlier. In fact, lightening seemed to have caused more forest fires in the area last night. (For more information on the fires, just ask Lorinda's Dad!)

Jeremy Camp Concert

We were given a couple tickets to go to the Jeremy Camp concert! The concert was held at the Western Montana Fair. We started out near the front, close to the stage. But that got a little hard with two little boys who wanted to move around a little. So we ended up laying down a blanket in the back. But that was perfect for our family. We could still see the cool lights and hear the music loud and clear! Jeremy Camp was great. (He is pictured just above the blue-shirt-guy's shoulder.)

Monster Tire Swing

We found a "Monster Tire Swing" the other day. The boys took turns holding on for dear-life!

Refreshing

Rivers have always provided a sense of refreshing to the soul when one rests by it. The Clark Fork River is no exception. Just a moment by it brings nourishment to you that is unexplainable. Don't believe us? Come try it. We'll show you what we're talking about.

Dream House

Everywhere we go in Montana, we find our perfect "Dream House". Landon and Lorinda usually tend to think alike when it comes to the ideal home. Dylan, however, wants a house in a neighborhood so he can ride his bike. (But not up high like the house in the picture, because that's too dangerous and scary for him.) And Kaden just wants any house, as long as it's really, really BIG. So pretty much a mansion in a neighborhood to please the boys; and a house on a hill with a gorgeous view for the parents. That shouldn't be too hard to find. (Yeah, right!) I guess we'll just stick with our duplex by the tracks for now. At least in heaven we'll have a mansion, right?

You Rock!

As soon as Kaden saw the river today, he was thrilled. He shouted, "Rocks!" He enjoys making big splashes with the rocks. Big Splashes = Big Smiles.

Another Path

Today we stumbled upon another public access to one of the rivers (The Clark Fork River). This is definitely one of our favorite places now to get to the river. You must first take a path over a bridge, through a field, and across some creeks. Up and down you go, until you come to the river. It is worth the short hike to get there. Just ask the boys; they loved it!

Behind a Buffalo

A couple years ago we visited Yellowstone Nat'l Park and saw lots of buffalo. Today we went around a corner and found some behind a fence. They didn't want to be photographed, so they didn't show their face. But we still snapped a shot anyway!

Bonner Pictures

Bonner is right outside Missoula. This is where we like to visit the Blackfoot River. It provides excellent backdrops for family pictures. We try to be ready when a "Kodak Moment" arrives.

Blackfoot Fishing

The Blackfoot River provides excellent fishing and relaxing scenery. About a month ago our family went exploring down the Blackfoot. This is what we found. Dylan and Landon love to fish. Kaden loves to throw rocks in the water (which disturbs the fishing, oops). And Lorinda loves to take pictures. It works for us!

"The All-Star"

Dylan ended his second season of baseball this year. The first was played in Georgia. The second was played in Montana. His two teams were "Astros" and "Grizzlies". The "Grizzlies" sound more aggressive, but unfortunately they were not. No score or outs were ever kept. But they stilled nicknamed Dylan "The All-Star".

Fishing @ Frenchtown

One week after being in Missoula, Wal-Mart hosted a Children's Fishing Day @ Frechtown Pond. We had a lot still to unpack, but we took time out to enjoy a community event. We're so glad we did! Both the boys caught a couple fish that day. Wal-Mart provided the poles, tackle, and our lunch. This was fun for the whole family!

Park Pictures

Dylan loved his hot dog meal at the Kids Fest, while Kaden just loved sitting in the firetruck with his new fireman's hat.

Higgins Street Bridge

Missoula is loaded with beautiful mountains and rivers. Therefore, we find many bridges throughout the city. This is one of the views from the bridge above the park where we had the Kids Fest.

Plinko Players

One of the games @ the Kids Fest was Plinko. That is a fun one to watch on TV and in "real-life". Both the kids did great at this game.

We have a Winner!

Yesterday was Landon's 1st time to ride the carousel. When a rider sits on an outside horse, he tries to grab a colored ring at each spin. The person who grabs the "gold ring" wins a free ride. Of course, this was a new challenge that Landon just had to try. And, lo and behold, he got the "gold ring" and won a free ride!

Missoula's Carousel

Missoula has a fairly new, beautiful, hand-carved carousel at Caris Park. To finish out the fun day, the boys rode the Carousel. (This was their 4th time since we moved here!) Note of interest: It is one of the fastest carousel's in the world.

Missoula Kids Fest '06

The children enjoyed a fun day at Caris Park yesterday. An annual Kids Fest is held by kids and for kids. Dylan and Kaden played many games, ate lots of junk food and received some fun prizes. All-in-all, it was another fun day in Missoula.

a new path

Our family recently moved to Montana to embark on a new mission: Pastor the Path of Life Church of God. Our children, Dylan and Kaden are traveling down a new "path" as well. Both seem to enjoy living in Missoula. This city provides many opportunities for children that they love! They are anxious to start their new school soon. (This picture shows them taking a path down to the Blackfoot River.)
